Filmmaker Patrick Stark

Finally the You Tube Campaign is finished and we can invite the whole world to be a part of this inspiring project. Filmmaker Patrick Stark is about to embark on an incredible journey. One that could see this filmmaker’s dream come true.

We need help from the media and Vancouver! Let’s spread the word! This is a message to U2 and we need Vancouver fans to help us get the word out them. In order to do that we need the media to help us tell the city we need their support. If you want to share our story please call and arrange for an interview. We may even bring our own camera and film the whole thing for the documentary. We need to let Vancouver know that they can come join us and be a part of Patrick’s passion project One Life: No Regrets.

Below is the press release. Please share the You Tube video link. Everyone is invited to come down to BC Place. Invite everyone you know!

FILMMAKER LOOKS TO U2 TO COMPLETE DOCUMENTARY ONE LIFE : NO REGRETS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 22, 2009

VANCOUVER—Filmmaker Patrick Stark is looking for the help of Irish super-group U2 to complete his most recent film, One Life: No Regrets. In fact if all goes well, the perfect ending to his film will have him on stage with the band for their October 28th performance at B.C. Place. This is U2’s last stop on their North American 360 (degree) Tour and quite possibly the last chance Stark would have to get their attention.

One Life : No Regrets explores the dreams that adults carry with them from childhood, yet never act upon. “Everyone has at least one dream that they have carried for years. Most never even take that first step.”

Stark, normally quite content to work behind the camera, is putting his money where his mouth is and explores his own dream in the film. “This is my passion project that needed the right timing to even begin. My dream is to feel, for one moment, what it feels like to be a rock star. Why not experience that by performing with the greatest rock band in the world?”

On October 27, at the Terry Fox Memorial at B.C. Place Stadium, Stark will create his own impromptu stage and sing his request to U2 – by performing 4 U2 songs, backed by a full band. “This isn’t like American Idol, where I expect a miraculous singing career to supplement my film work. I’m not even a singer. The point of this is to experience, create a memorable moment on film and have some fun in the process.”

Stark is more than willing to share the stage and is looking for hundreds to join him in singing the songs – Bad, Until The End of the World, Love is Blindness, and One. Stark believes, “If we manage to conjure up an amazing crowd, we have a better shot at getting the band’s attention and creating a magical scene for the film.”

Cameras will roll, rain or shine, at 2pm at the Terry Fox memorial at BC Place at 2pm.
